Bowfield Hotel and Spa

We had a massage the day before my son's wedding, and Rosie was so skilled. It was the best hot stone massage I’ve had. The wedding itself went really well and made for an incredible day. The only letdown was the bar between the service and the room being set up: even though a tab had been arranged and agreed, there was just one person on duty. Breakfast was good, though a little cool, and the pool was really clean and enjoyable. Would love to come back.

The room and tables looked beautiful, and the food was excellent. I especially appreciated how much effort went into catering for allergies and dietary restrictions. Nothing was too much trouble. We’d come here to celebrate a wedding, and had an amazing day. The staff were attentive throughout, and the young MC was a gem.

The breakfast was excellent, and the lodge came with a lovely welcome basket of sweets and snacks, plus tea and coffee. It’s a one bedroom lodge without kitchen facilities, just so you know. The WiFi was good enough to play music on a speaker outside while we used the hot tub, and robes, towels and flip flops were a nice touch. My wife’s feedback was that hand cream or moisturiser would’ve been useful after the tub. The bathroom had a decent shower, with shampoo and shower gel provided, and the bedroom had a comfy bed and great pillows. We had an overnight stay booked and, despite the poor weather, managed about an hour in the hot tub. The setting was lovely. Staff were good, although the lodge wasn’t ready when we arrived. We were asked to have lunch or coffee, then told housekeeping was delayed when we came back. They gave us complimentary tea, and we got in about 25 minutes later. Lunch in the bar was nice. Would recommend and return.

Stopped in for coffee and a “fluffy” scone. The coffee maker wasn’t very communicative or responsive, and the scone was like a brick. I can’t imagine people actually pay to use the facilities here. Won’t be coming back.
