Isla Bank House

We stayed back in May 2024 and still look back on it with so much joy. The hosts were super friendly, and the food was awesome. Every part of the experience felt spectacular. I’ve already recommended the place to several friends considering a trip to Scotland. I’d love to come back myself if I visit Scotland again.

One thing we missed in the tower suite was being able to open a window for fresh air. We were told that would be fixed. Otherwise, what an impressive restoration of an old building. Vena and Nick gave us such a warm welcome, and they’re wonderful hosts. Do book dinner, the seasonal food is cooked from their own produce, and you can hear plenty about the house’s interesting history. We’ll be back and would recommend booking.

There’s plenty to see around the area, especially for anyone interested in whisky, though you’ll need a car because many attractions are hard to reach by public transport. We left feeling rested and refreshed, with very comfy beds and such a quiet house and setting. Vena and Nick couldn’t have done more to make us feel at home, and Nick has lots of stories about the house if you’d like to hear them. The house is stunning, and we had an amazing stay. Give yourself a few days here to properly unwind. We also had dinner with them, which was delicious, and they readily catered for my dietary needs. We really didn’t want to leave.
