I arrived for a planned stay and there was no key for me at reception. Someone from the apartments told me the third-party booking agency had cancelled my reservation, leaving me with nowhere to stay that night, so I had to go home. I later found out the apartments themselves had cancelled it, apparently because they may have secured a better rate for the room. The person I spoke to said they had stopped using that booking agency because they'd had problems with them before, but that doesn't seem to be true, as I can see they're still using its services. The agency was much more helpful and refunded me straight away. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The garden studio apartment is pet friendly, and having a patio garden with a dog was really useful. We paid £25 per pet per stay. It's also in a perfect location, five minutes from the beach and ten from Queen’s Park. The flat was very clean, which mattered most to me, and nicely decorated. The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water. Residential parking permits cost £15 per day, and I'd recommend getting one since there are plenty of street spaces to use it with. A few things could be better. This is a basement flat, so take care on the narrow stairs. The garden isn't private at all, with about six or eight windows from other rooms looking over it. A small canopy or parasol would give some privacy and keep off the rain. Despite being dog friendly, there were no dog bowls or mats, and no dog waste bin outside. There was no recycling, just one black bag. A sponge and wash cloth were provided, but there was no dish drainer or rack. Hand wash was supplied, though there was no shower gel. For four nights we got only one and a half toilet rolls. The complimentary breakfast was cereal bars, cereal boxes, juice, and milk; I'm not sure if they handle dietary requests, but one of us is vegan and couldn't eat any of it. The TV was only viewable from the sofa bed, so a swivel mount would let you watch it from the bed too. Mobile service wasn't available in the room, and the WiFi wasn't great, so connectivity could be improved. A full-length mirror would be nice as well.

The room was very cramped, with nowhere to put clothes or anything else since there wasn't even a shelf or cupboard. I couldn't find anyone there to raise a complaint with, and the kettle and glasses needed a thorough wash. Not even a bottle of water was provided. The heating was quite good, though.

Mark, the owner, really looked after my mum and me during our recent stay. He helped us sort out parking at the last minute, which saved a lot of stress, and returned a wallet I'd left behind. Thank you so much for a wonderful visit and for taking care of us! The rooms were tidy and comfortable, and the place is excellent for staying in Brighton, with everything a short walk away.

Had a good time there. The property was really neat and clean, and all the shops were within walking distance. If you're coming to Brighton and need somewhere to stay, this is the one for you.
