We had a great family trip with our two kids, and the house and views were amazing. The food was outstanding, and they really do feed you well. The staff were fantastic, fun, hardworking and always willing to help. Nothing but praise for them all. You can choose guided walking tours or go self-guided, as we did. The prices might look steep, but once you compare them with paying for a B&B or self-catering and buying all three meals each day, this place is really good value. The whole experience was stunning, excellent, brilliant and awesome, and I could keep going. A huge thank you to everyone at HF, especially the staff!

Wi-Fi was poor and kept dropping out. The food was very good, and the views over Derwentwater were great. It’s a good base for walks, and staff were attentive and easy to talk to. The bar was okay, though there wasn’t much choice of beer on tap.

The house is within walking distance of Keswick, with ample parking on site and views down to the lake. It’s a large country house with different types of rooms, a small bar and lounge, and a spacious dining room.

Mariano and the staff were enthusiastic, hardworking and keen to help. The grounds are well maintained, and the car park is very large, with movement-sensor lights at night. The rooms are excellent, with modern showers, toilets and washbasins, plus plenty of cupboards and drawers. There are lots of lights and power sockets. Every bedroom has tea-making facilities and a flat-screen TV. Breakfast, packed lunch and dinner were all very good, with options for every meal, including vegetarian choices.
