We had a delicious meal here last night, and the flavour, quality and presentation all impressed us. It’s a cosy, charming pub, and the staff were very friendly. Such a lovely place, I’d happily recommend it.

We only meant to stop for coffee, but the food and atmosphere were so good that we stayed for lunch and dinner. The food was unbelievable, both in flavour and presentation, and I’m surprised the restaurant hasn’t got any AA Rosettes yet. It’s tucked away in Keswick, with a calm, cosy pub feel that made the visit special. There are plenty of local walks nearby too. We’ll be back soon and stay over next time. Definitely recommend.

We’re already thinking about booking again before we’ve even left. The rooms are great and have everything you need, and the management and staff make the place feel homely. The chefs are very good. I’d only ask for a few more vegan and vegetarian choices. For getting out on foot, there are lots of options within about 20 minutes. Keswick is a 10-minute drive away and has plenty to do.

We didn’t eat here this time, though the dishes we saw coming out looked lovely. There’s a good range of drinks, and the staff were really friendly. We sat on the terrace, which is a lovely sun trap with views over the Newlands Valley. The pub has been refurbished to a very high standard, both inside and out.

The food was excellent, full of flavour and made with great quality ingredients. It’s rare to find food this good, and we’ll be back. One thing would finish the experience for me: linen napkins. With food of this quality, paper napkins didn’t quite fit.
