Dinner was amazing, much better than any hotel food I’ve had before. The lamb shank was honestly the best I’ve ever tasted, and breakfast was generous too. We kept missing lunch, but I’m so glad we managed to have dinner on our last night. Our corner room had lots of light, felt clean and comfortable, and had lovely powerful showers and stunning views. And thank you to all the wonderful staff we met. Everyone was warm, charming, polite and friendly. They were brilliant.

The lamb shank and belly pork were both amazing, and the gravy might be the best I’ve ever had. We ate in the comfortable, relaxed bar, though there’s also a lovely cosy dining room. It’s clearly popular, so I’d call ahead to book if possible. We loved it enough to come back two days later. The welcome was very warm, and the food was hearty and delicious.

I’ve only eaten at the restaurant and pub, not stayed in the rooms. The food and service are excellent. The steak and kidney pudding is amazing if you’re hungry, and the Hunters skillet with chicken livers, pancetta and mushrooms made a great starter. I left feeling relaxed, happy and content with what I’d eaten. If I weren’t driving, I’d gladly spend the evening in the bar with a glass of wine. Easy to recommend.

The residents lounge has a cosy fire, just right after a long day in the hills. The staff were friendly, polite and very professional, and the food was excellent, really tasty and served in generous portions. Such good value too. What a lovely find. I’ll be back! ☺️

The homemade steak and kidney pudding was exceptional, and the beer was great. We stopped for a meal on the way home from work locally, and it turned out to be an excellent dining experience. The dining area was pleasant and the staff friendly. Highly recommended.
