The location is convenient, just a short walk from the station and town centre, and the room rate was reasonable. From a distance, the rooms look nicely coordinated, and there was a kettle with tea, coffee and biscuits. Up close, though, there were a lot of problems. The wallpaper carries on onto the ceiling, every metal surface in the en suite was rusty, and the extractor didn't work. The shower cubicle was so cramped I could hardly move, with awful grout and silicone work and extensive black mould right in front of me. The room radiator was stuck on full because its cap was missing, keeping the room around 26 C. It took the pub two days to sort this, and then, for no clear reason, they turned it right up again on the last night. The supposedly fresh duvet cover had stains, as did the curtains.

I came for my mum's birthday and the all you can eat Chinese food was out of this world. The drinks were really nice too, and adding the little dessert fridge was a great touch. Lisa and Dave looked after us as always. I'd recommend it to anyone.

The cocktails were amazing, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout. We had a great choice of food for gluten free and vegetarian diets, and both the starter and main were delicious. We booked the bottomless brunch for my friend's birthday, and were shown to our table and given the brunch menu when we arrived. I'd highly recommend it.

The back room was cosy, and the staff were friendly. We had a lovely evening with friends at Italian night. The food was fabulous. We'll definitely come again 🌝

The food was so good, and the price and quality mean this place ought to be packed. We went for the Sunday carvery and were impressed by the choice of four meats. The vegetables were superb too. It wasn't too busy when we went. This beats every carvery I've tried, hands down. We'll be back.
