Adare Hotel

The staff were VERY friendly, and they helped me and my niece sort out a really bad problem. I want to thank the manager and everyone there for being so understanding and kind. That's why I'd happily stay again. The Adare Hotel Paddington is simple but good: clean, small rooms with enough space, and a basic, practical setup. Breakfast is continental, like at a bed and breakfast. Take care.

On my second day I still hadn't managed to shower, so I went to complain again. The receptionist disappeared into the back and refused to speak with me. Earlier, when I reported that there was no hot water, the sink was blocked, the shower door wouldn't close and the TV remote needed a new battery, he became aggressive and showed no interest in fixing anything. The service was horrible. Other reviews say you get what you pay for, but the price wasn't cheap enough to excuse facilities that barely worked. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. Avoid it.

The one guy on reception seemed to be there 24 hours a day and was really rude. I get that he works all the time, but that's not my fault. I'm not fussy, but this place was terrible. The rooms were small and smelly, and the beds were really bad. Breakfast ran from 7:30 to 9 and was just toast, burnt coffee and something like croissants. Never again.

The location is perfect, just minutes from the station, shops and Hyde Park. Our room was fine, and the staff did get the TV fixed, which I appreciated. But half the plugs didn't work. The staff also asked inappropriate questions about my friend's relationship with me. Maybe they meant to be friendly, but the looks and comments made me really uncomfortable, and I didn't appreciate it.
