The scenery around here is stunning. We drove up Ben Lawers and saw fresh snow and lots of wild deer, and Killin itself is lovely to explore, close to Loch Tay. We had dinner in the restaurant, which has olive green decor and wooden booths that give you some privacy. The food was delicious, with vegetarian choices too. Our dog was welcome, and there was even a little plate of treats for her. Breakfast was enjoyable, with plenty to choose from. The large family room suited three of us and our dog. It was quiet overnight, and had a kettle with tea and coffee, bottled water and a hairdryer. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel were provided as well. The Inn is only a few minutes’ walk from the Bridge of Dochart and the gorgeous River Dochart. We got a warm, friendly welcome, and the hosts were happy to chat about local walks with the dog and places to drive to.

They were already fully booked, but still went out of their way to help us find somewhere else after the place we’d reserved turned out to be too dirty to sleep in. Such lovely people, and the inn is beautiful. We enjoyed dinner too, especially hearing from Micheal about a new way to cook lamb. If you’re nearby, stop in and meet this wonderful family.

After a week hiking across Scotland, we stopped here for food. The menu was inventive, and every dish was delicious. It was easily the best meal of the trip, and one of the cheapest too.

We were made to feel welcome as cyclists. The room was clean and comfortable, and the food was tasty with sensible portions, so we managed three courses. Breakfast was filling and good as well.
