We stayed on 15th May and had a really terrible experience for £149 a night. Our room was at the back of the hotel, with a tiny window looking onto the car park. There was no view of the falls. A tap kept dripping audibly all night, and the so-called double bed felt more like a three-quarter size. It sagged in the middle, so my partner and I kept rolling into each other. The bathroom had a tub and handheld shower head, but no proper shower. The tub was under a sloping ceiling, so standing up wasn’t possible, and there was no curtain. Since we didn’t want a bath, we had to squat in the tub. The shampoo and body wash dispenser was broken and empty. Service in the restaurant was pretty terrible. The waitress kept hurrying us along. The beer was very nice, but after we ordered one soup and one fish and chips, two fish and chips arrived. We pointed out the mistake, and she complained at us over her small error. The fish and chips were okay, but the soup tasted a lot like canned tomato and basil pasta sauce. The hotel is in a beautiful spot across from the falls, and the pub’s atmosphere and interior were the only things that salvaged the visit. I might come back for a beer and the lovely falls outside.

I’d been to the Inn a couple of times during our holiday. One evening I went in with my partner and a colleague, and the young bar ‘manager’ immediately decided she wouldn’t serve us because she thought we’d already had too much to drink. She didn’t speak with us or ask anything to make an informed judgement. We’d only had a glass of wine with a meal. Her approach felt judgemental, rude and unprofessional, and left us hurt, upset and disappointed. We’ve never been treated like that before. It showed immaturity and an inability on their part. The negative Google reviews seem to keep mentioning staff attitude, service and rudeness. They really need to pay attention to that. Customer service at the Inn is non-existent. It’s no way to treat the people who pay their salaries.

I’ve been coming to Killin for more than fifty years and have visited this pub now and then, though I’d never stayed there. We ate there last night and left disappointed. The menu had very little choice, the fish was average and the burger was very poor. It felt like a poor experience. They have a captive audience but don’t seem to appreciate it. Based on this latest visit, I wouldn’t recommend the place.

The meal was good and hot, but the service was very slow. Cold air kept coming in because the entrance door didn’t close by itself and other customers left it open. The parking signs were confusing, with wording about paying that seemed intended to stop other people parking there.

We first tried the restaurant at 8:10 for dinner, even though the website said food was served until 9, and were told the kitchen had stopped. We came back the following evening. The fish and chips were good, and the house gin and tonic was fantastic. The haggis pizza was good too, though it seemed to be missing something and I can't say what.
