The location worked perfectly for where I needed to be, and parking was a bonus. We didn’t see the host, but they communicated professionally by phone. The rooms looked worn, with stained carpets that felt almost threadbare. The walls were very thin: I was upstairs and could hear my other guest moving around downstairs. There’s potential here if the appearance gets some attention.

Good value for the price, and the location was handy, right by a bus stop. The bed was very comfortable. I stayed one night for a short trip. The room was clean to a point, though the bathroom was a little dirty, nothing too bad. Its lights were very dim and flickering. Still a good hotel for a stay, and I’d recommend it.

The room was awful, cramped and full of mould, nothing like the photos used for the listing. The shower was broken, there was a live spider in both the room and bathroom, and street noise came in because the room faces a busy road. The staff and the site never answered my complaints.

The room was quiet and peaceful through the night and morning, and the staff were lovely and very helpful, though we only saw them for two minutes and spoke once on the phone to get the entry code. The location is good for getting into the city centre if you take Uber or a bus. Uber averaged £14 each way for us, compared with £60 by taxi. The first impression was the overpowering fish smell in the guest house hallway, though thankfully it didn’t reach our room. The room was compact, which is fine, but as the photos show it was unclean, old and weathered. There were molð spots in the bathroom. The bed was two single mattresses pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable ridge, and the pillows were so flat that even three didn’t help. The curtain was too small for the window and made of sheer-like material, so sunlight came in at dawn and woke us early. For the state of the rooms, the price wasn’t reasonable.

The room was in such a run-down state it should never have been let. The walls were dirty, wallpaper was peeling, and the wardrobe door wouldn’t close properly. The shower tray was dirty inside and out, as were the bathroom edges. The toilet flush button was broken, and an old toilet roll holder had been left sticking out after it broke. There was a bad smell as soon as we came through the front door, and the carpet needed a deep clean or replacing. The whole place needs gutting. Do not stay here.
