The Wenns Chop & Ale House

The fish and chips in the restaurant were really tasty, and the portion was very generous. The staff were friendly and helpful. My room was large and comfortable, with a little kitchenette, but the shower kept turning cold, so I gave up on it. Parking opposite the hotel costs extra. I’d asked for a quiet room and unfortunately was put across from a pub playing loud music past midnight. I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep. I know the noise wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it was frustrating enough that I nearly left.

Rob, Rick, Linda, Vicky and everyone else were fabulous. We were in England for my son’s final goodbyes, and they went above and beyond to make everything perfect. I couldn’t recommend a better place! ❤️

I only stopped in for lunch. There was a good choice of gluten-free food, prices were reasonable, the service came with a smile, and the atmosphere was good.

Rob from management looked after what we needed when I visited the restaurant with friends today. The food was fabulous, service attentive and professional, and the ambience lovely. It’s a pretty place too. Highly recommend, and we’ll be back soon.
