Higherlands

The breakfast was amazing, and we had a wonderful stay while attending a wedding at Foxtail Barns. It was only a short drive to the venue, and Julie kindly gave us a lift there and back.

Julie was warm and helpful from the first time we got in touch, and even acted as our taxi to the wedding venue. Our room was spotless, with a really comfortable bed. Breakfast was generous and delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and highly recommend Julie’s hospitality.

We were here for two nights for a wedding nearby, and Julie even offered to drive us there and pick us up. She was such a friendly, lovely host. The location is stunning, the room and bathroom were immaculate, and the bed was so comfortable I struggled to get out of it. Breakfast was yummy too. I’d definitely recommend a stay.

We had a lovely welcome at Higherlands, where we stayed one night after Sunday lunch on the Churnet Valley Steam Railway. The station is just a couple of minutes away by car, and nothing seemed too much trouble. Julie recommended a great walk in the local countryside. We watched England v Slovakia in the lounge before heading out, then returned to a spacious room with a very comfy bed and a great shower. Breakfast the next morning was a perfect start to the day.
