The breakfast had an excellent choice. Jocks Bar has a limited menu, but the food was tasty and good value, and all the staff we dealt with were pleasant. Our refurbished room did have a few things that could be improved: water damage on the ceiling, no shade on the ceiling bulb, and the bathroom was the only place with a mirror. We couldn’t reach the bedside light switches without getting out of bed, and the shower tray got very slippery when wet. Small fixes, but they’d make a big difference. We can imagine it’ll be a lovely hotel once all the refurbishment work is done. We’d stay again if we needed to be in the area.

Right in the middle of Kinross, with huge rooms, plenty of hot water and good central heating on a cold night. The rooms were exceptionally clean. It’s an old hotel that hasn’t been updated, with shabby-chic furniture, and the price reflects that. I’d still highly recommend it.

We booked a last-minute night away with our dog and got a warm welcome from the staff, who looked after us brilliantly throughout. The food was good and there was a great range of drinks. The rooms were a little tired, though clean and warm. We had a great stay and will be back.

We waited 40 minutes for food after ordering, then the starter arrived 15 minutes after the main. The coffee was cold, and some choices from an already pretty narrow menu turned out to be unavailable only after we’d ordered. Food was overcooked or undercooked, and we had to ask for things like condiments and milk for tea. There were only four other customers, so it wasn’t busy. Dreadful, inept service. I’ve just moved to Kinross and won’t be going back to the Green.

The sea bass I ordered smelled foul as soon as I tried it. I asked my partner to taste it too, and he noticed the same disgusting smell. I told the waiter I couldn’t eat it, but we were still billed for the fish because I had ordered it. They said I had to pay 50% of the food for the bites I’d taken. Disgusting food and terrible customer service.
