The homemade chocolate brownie waiting for us was delicious, and the cottage was such a peaceful little escape. Lovely walks all around, too. Would definitely recommend a stay.

We could hear the wildlife and little else, and there were lovely walks right outside, plus plenty of parking. The apartment was clean, the location just right, and it had everything I needed. I’d come back for sure. The carrot cake was delicious too!

Our wagonette room turned out even nicer than the photos suggested. The view was beautiful, and we had a private patio. Everything was tidy, very clean, and there for our weekend stay. We’d happily recommend the place to friends and are already looking forward to coming back.

We’ll be back for the scenic walks, which come in plenty of lengths and levels of difficulty. The barn conversions sit in a lovely secluded valley a few miles from Kirkby Stephen, surrounded by the Pennines. Inside, the apartments were warm and cosy even in the depths of winter, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Two are dog friendly, which was essential for us. We got a lovely welcome and a tour from the friendly owner, plus freshly baked cake.
