The hotel meal was excellent, and breakfast was very good too. We found the room clean and comfortable, with fresh, tasteful decor, and the whole place was immaculate. The staff were friendly and helpful. We chose The Selkirk Arms for a night’s stay and would happily come back to explore more. It sits on a quiet residential street, with a wine bar and local pub an easy walk away. We visited both and met friendly locals, and there was a great range of gins, wines and lagers. It’s pet friendly as well. The surrounding area is beautiful, with plenty of walks and historic sites. The coast is close by, with lovely sea views and a ferry route to Ireland. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a really good time and will be back. The food was fresh, well presented and arrived promptly, with quality I’d rate 9/10. The garden was clean and tidy, and there’s a covered outdoor area. Tables and the rest of the space were clean too. Staff looked well presented and were kind and attentive. Definitely recommend a visit.

The crab starter and chicken curry were especially good, and dinner at the restaurant was delicious on both nights we ate there. Breakfast was included and freshly prepared each day. We spent four nights at the Selkirk arms and really enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in a great location, with parking at the rear. It’s a beautiful historic building, and the staff were all very helpful. Our room looked recently renovated, and the bed was super comfy. I’d highly recommend staying here.

We ate dinner here twice and had tasty food with a good choice both times. Breakfast was just as good, cooked fresh to order and served in generous portions. The staff throughout the hotel were lovely, very friendly and chatty. Our room was spacious and super comfortable, making this a lovely four night base for exploring Kirkcudbright. I can highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

I can’t speak to the rooms, but the restaurant is easy to recommend. The staff were lovely, checking in as the meal went along and making sure we had a great experience from beginning to end. The food was outstanding, proper comfort dishes done at restaurant quality, with that best of mum’s cooking feeling but taken up a level.
