A lovely pub in a scenic part of Lancashire, with a real fire, plenty of parking, and a dog friendly welcome. It was very clean and spacious, with nice staff and lots of food choices. The food is usually excellent, though at Sunday lunch the roast potatoes weren’t very warm and the plates were cold.

We visited twice while staying in the area for a few days, because the first meal was so good. On the second visit, the curry sweet potato soup had a huge depth of flavour, and the chicken and pancetta pie with chorizo was top notch. The first time, mushroom and tarragon soup was delicious, followed by a tender, flavourful lamb shank. Sticky toffee pudding with custard and ice cream was simply amazing. The food feels like fine dining in a pub, and the service was excellent. I highly recommend it if you’re nearby, but book early on the weekend because it was busy.

It took us a while to try The Stork after it reopened, but we finally did, and really enjoyed the visit. The atmosphere was lovely, the food was really good, and the service excellent, with friendly, happy staff. Very dog friendly too. Five stars to everyone, would highly recommend.

We had a very pleasant night at The Stork. The staff were cheerful and attentive, and the snacks and drinks that evening were top quality. Breakfast was cooked in the morning and just as good.

We came back to try the Sunday roast, and it was very good and reasonably priced. This is a very nice pub and hotel, with excellent service. It was reassuringly busy on a Sunday (Nov 25), and I’d highly recommend it.
