The Stables Deer Park Farm

There’s lots of space to walk the dog in the pretty grounds, and the rope swing was GREAT fun. The horses and Shetland ponies are really friendly, as are the owners 2 dogs. It’s self-check-in, so we didn’t have much contact with the owners, but everyone we did meet was lovely and welcoming. We had a lovely weekend away. The rooms are compact but have everything you need, with comfy beds, nice linen and everything very clean. A perfect little break in nature. I’d recommend it and would definitely come back.

The Superior King Room is very comfortable and spacious, with a good sofa lounge and a kitchen area with a dining table. Check-in using a code was convenient, and the host responded quickly by phone. It was reasonably quiet for the location, though we could still hear other noises and it’s near flight paths. The property is starting to need refurbishment and a deeper clean. The floors are worn, cupboards need sorting out, and corners need more attention. It feels a bit neglected: much of the property has been sold off and the fields are overgrown. We couldn’t find any deer, and saw only a couple of horses in one paddock and a couple of minis locked in the arena. There are statues of deer and horses instead. The kitchen appliances don’t work, and the wrong pans were provided for the backup table top stove. It needs some TLC to bring it back up to scratch and make it fully worth the money.

We had a seating area at both the front and rear, where we could enjoy a drink and watch the horses, llamas and Shetlands. Heather was very helpful whenever we needed her, and we even had a little visit from Betsy. The location is great, and the room was absolutely lovely, with plenty of towels, toilet rolls and hand wash. There was also a nice complimentary basket of croissants, pain au chocolates, waffles and biscuits. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others. Can’t wait to come back. Thank you.

The room was clean, warm and well equipped, with a kitchenette and complimentary continental breakfast. We stayed in the superior room, and the price was still very reasonable. It’s a beautiful farm setting with plenty to do and see in the area. We booked ‘The stables’ on the same day, and the Owner was extremely helpful in adjusting the booking to meet my fiancées needs as a full time wheelchair user. We had a lovely visit and will definitely come again.
