The Barn At Collacott

We've just come back from our third weekend at The Barn, and already booked another one for next year. Helen and John are such friendly, accommodating hosts. The food John cooks is excellent: my son loves the pancakes, my partner goes for a full English, and I usually choose the fresh fruit and yogurt. I've tried the pancakes and eggs too, and would happily recommend them. Although it's on a working farm, The Barn is wonderfully quiet. You can sit in the garden and take in the stunning views, and at night the stars are amazing because there's no light pollution. The old farm building has been converted to a very high standard into a luxury B&B. Downstairs there's a roomy dining area and a guest living room; Helen and John live in a separate building. The two bedrooms are upstairs. We always book the larger one, Barley, with its huge, very comfortable super king bed, tasteful decor and tea and coffee facilities. Its spacious bathroom has a lovely shower and a full-size bath. If you're after a high-end rural stay in North Cornwall, The Barn at Collacott is a great choice.

We had a lovely afternoon and were very well looked after by the hosts. The roast was beautifully cooked and there was more than we could manage. The food, warm hospitality and attention to detail were all wonderful. We couldn't have asked for more.

The farm setting gives you beautiful views over the area, and Launceston is nearby. You'll want a car, though. Helen and John, thanks for such an unforgettable stay. The rooms were warm, comfortable, modern and lovely, and breakfast was delicious, especially the freshly made full English. I highly recommend it.

I've had few stays as good as this one. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, and the location is stunning. Our room was spotless, with lovely extra touches that made the stay feel special. There were plenty of breakfast choices, and it was delicious.
