We were passing through, so my mum and I stopped for a few drinks. The barman was lovely and brought us freshly cooked chips. The log fire made it warm and cosy. We'll pass by again for dinner.

Breakfast was really good, with everything made to order, and I couldn't fault the staff or food. I stayed one night last week, really enjoyed it and will definitely be back.

We enjoyed a couple of games of pool with the boys after our meal. The staff were lovely and very helpful, and the food was thoroughly enjoyed by all of us. There was a varied menu with pub classics and some different choices, and the prices felt fair for the quality. We're looking forward to going back. We live only half a mile away and are embarrassed we hadn't found this gem sooner.

The sticky toffee pudding was to die for and made up for the overcooked salmon and vegetables.

We only stopped in for a meal and a drink, but the welcome was really warm. The food was excellent, the drinks were pretty good too, and we liked the atmosphere. If you're nearby, pop in. We'd recommend it.
