The beer garden has recently been refurbished and is a lovely spot for families or just sitting outside. Inside, the pub feels welcoming and friendly, with a great gin selection. The locals are happy to take you on at pool, too. I haven't tried a toastie yet, but they look lovely. 😜 Well worth a visit.

This was about ten years ago, so hopefully things have improved. I knew the previous owners, and at the time they were horrendous. The pub and hotel were absolutely disgusting, though the place itself had lots of potential and was quiet and nice.

We popped into the hotel pub for a beer and found a lovely, authentic Scottish pub. The customers were curious about where we came from and what we'd seen so far, which made it feel very friendly. The service was warm, the prices fair, and the atmosphere welcoming.

The room was spacious, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the location was easy to get to. Nick was a great host, too. We had an amazing stay and would come back in a heartbeat.

Just rating the pub so I could move on, I didn't stay. It's a cosy place and was open under new management while renovations were underway. At the time, the rooms and restaurant were expected to open by April 2022. Pub hours were Friday 4pm-1am, Saturday noon-1am, and Sunday noon to midnight.
