They seated us close to the door, so with my limited mobility and rollator I only had a couple of small steps to manage. Our greyhound was welcome too. It’s an old, characterful pub, and we had a delicious Sunday lunch with quick service. Well worth visiting, though you need to book.

There are several little cosy rooms inside, and the food is a notch above average pub fare, good quality and well cooked. It’s a very old traditional pub without a bar as such, but there’s a decent choice of traditional ales plus a few craft beers. Service is great even with a small staff.

The sense of history really comes through here. I’ve stayed once and returned several times for meals since. The food, service and atmosphere are all spot on. Thoroughly recommend.

We only came for an evening meal and didn’t stay, but it was very good. We tried the venison and seabass, and both were excellent. Friendly locals and staff add to the experience in the old fashioned bar. I’d highly recommend a visit to this rural retreat.

A quirky, beautiful pub with lovely food. The staff were all friendly and the service was fab. I can recommend the beef brisket and belly of pork. A great visit, and I’ll definitely be back.
