The Plough Inn

The staff were the highlight at the Plough Inn: Fran, Trudy and Dan gave us the best service ever. We felt sad to leave and can’t wait to return. We spent several nights at the Inn, eating many lovely meals at the pub. Our room was small and simple but comfortable, and the courtyard was a perfect spot to eat. I especially enjoyed the vegetarian curry and the delicious breakfasts. It’s a quiet area where you can enjoy the English countryside in all its splendour. The location is ideal too, within walking distance of the River Thames path and Kelmscott manor.

A beer and wine beside the open fire made for a perfect start to the evening, and dinner was superb. We loved the homemade steak pie and pork chop, and adding everything to a tab made checkout easy. The room was spotless and beautifully decorated, with a powerful hot shower and a very comfortable bed. From the warm welcome at arrival to the cosy atmosphere, we had a fantastic stay and couldn’t fault the place. We’d happily return.

The Scroll room was warm, very clean and so cosy. That bed was incredibly comfortable, we really didn’t want to get up! We enjoyed a delicious dinner and cooked breakfast, and the staff were welcoming and friendly from arrival until we left. We’ve just come back from a delightful one-night stay at The Plough Inn. It’s a beautiful, quiet and pretty location. We’d gladly stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

It feels really homely here, with lots of small thoughtful touches that make a difference. There’s even a French press coffee maker in every room. The bar is nicely laid out and a great place for an evening meal, and breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety. It’s warm and super cosy. I definitely recommend it. 👍
