The staff were friendly and helpful, and the old manor house looks nice. But for what it costs, it wasn’t worth it. Premier inns are better and cheaper. After a five-hour trip, we arrived at 9:30 pm, unpacked and asked whether the restaurant or bar had food. They didn’t. We went to our room tired and hungry. The TV said sandwiches and room service were available 24 hours, so we called down, only to be told service stopped at 10 pm and restarted at 11. We waited, then I rang at 11 to order a sandwich and drink because I take pills at night. Ten minutes later reception called to say they’d run out of the sandwich fillings and the drink I’d asked for. We tried making tea instead. The four-star offering was three Nescafé sachets, no tea or decaf tea. I rang reception and asked for a few teabags. The gym they advertise wasn’t on site either. We could drive two miles to use a local gym they have a deal with. Breakfast was poor. We were seated beside the dirty-plate station, which did nothing to help with the hunger. The sausages and hash browns were overcooked and undercooked, and tasteless, as were the cheap bacon and beans.

The dance floor stayed full all night thanks to DJ Steve. He read the room brilliantly, chose the right music and helped make the whole celebration so much fun for us and our guests. Our wedding day was perfect, and the venue team played a huge part. From booking onward, the staff were friendly, helpful and clearly cared about making the day special. They guided us through everything smoothly, and on the day the organisation was spot on. Every detail, from the setup through to packing down, was handled efficiently and on time, so we could relax and enjoy it all. Jason, our host, was on top of every request, big or small, straight away. Being around him made me feel everything would work out. He’s flawless at his job and has such a great aura. Rachael was quick to reply to all my emails and requests with answers, and always made us feel welcome with her hospitality. Our guests also remarked on how lovely and polite the staff were. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue or team. Thank you for making our wedding unforgettable. I’d recommend you without hesitation.

Jason, the operations manager, went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Our personalised private dining lunch was wonderful, with delicious food and amazing service. The effort and attention to detail were clear, and we can’t thank you enough. Looking forward to dining with you again soon.

The staff were fantastic from the start when I came to the hotel brasserie with my parents for afternoon tea to celebrate my dad’s 89th birthday. Jay and Saoidettin looked after us and checked that everything was satisfactory, and he brought out a special birthday treat for my dad. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone after a relaxed, easy afternoon tea.

The heated outdoor pool at David Lloyd is only a few minutes’ drive away and comes with the stay. We loved it at night, even in the rain. At Weetwood Hall, the staff were professional, friendly and easy to deal with. I was surprised with an upgrade, which gave me a much-needed lift, and there was a £5 bar voucher under the door too. I’d happily come back. Thanks, Weetwood Hall.
