Heritage Hotel

I was placed here while waiting to be allocated my own place, and I was grateful to have a warm room and a roof over my head. Still, I can’t recommend it. It was hard to sleep at weekends because there’s also an Indian restaurant. I don’t think they take bookings from the general public. Other guests used the fire escape to get in and out after hours. We had to be back by midnight, or so I assumed, otherwise I might have turned into a pumpkin.

The staff were nice, warm and welcoming, and the room was clean. They catered to all my requirements, and for the price I can’t complain. It’s a little further from the centre where my relatives stay. We were told on arrival that breakfast was confirmed, but then told there’d be no breakfast after the first morning. Breakfast would’ve made the stay much better. I’d stay again if I had to, though ideally I’d book somewhere that provides breakfast.

Breakfast was a very nice full English, with attentive service and plenty more brought out. I had a good chat with the chap serving us; he was really interesting to talk to. The room was fine, spacious enough for four, and had comfy beds and plush pillows. No complaints.

It meets our needs when all we want is a clean bed, and the staff were very helpful. Some rooms look a little tired, but upgrading them would probably mean a higher price. Good value for money.
