We booked a 4 night getaway through Airbnb, but on checking in found a disgusting smell and severe amounts of mould in the kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. The team weren't urgent in dealing with the problem and told us to sort it out through Airbnb. The property ad was false, and we came very close to having nowhere to stay.

The studio flat was very clean but basic, with a fridge, cooker and washing machine. It had a toilet, shower and handbasin. The stairway walls were stained with damp, the TV had no signal, and the mattress had seen better days.

We couldn’t stay in the apartment because it was so bad. Not a single part of the supposed “luxury” place was clean. I booked through booking.com and had to tell them how awful the accommodation was. I’d strongly suggest looking somewhere else.

The room was warm and the bed was comfortable, and the city location makes the price reasonable. The place is a bit rough around the edges, though. Parking made me uneasy, with signs from different enforcement companies warning about hefty fines.

I came for a Saturday meeting a few years back. The place looks out over the city centre, and it’s handy for Highcross and de Montfort University. I’d attended the university many years earlier.
