We used the hotel for the night before our wedding, with five rooms, and then for the night after, with 12 altogether. Alex the manageress was fantastic, from booking ahead and keeping the rooms at the original price to helping guests get in early where she could. The staff were all really friendly, and breakfast was good quality. I couldn't fault it, and my guests felt the same.

The room had plenty of space and everything I needed, and the Wi-Fi was free, fast and reliable. Check-in was quick and friendly, and I was in my room within ten minutes of reaching reception. The Holiday Inn express is modern, has lots of free parking and is easy to reach from the motorway. They take a £50 pre-authorised payment at check-in.

The location worked well, with a pub and supermarket close by, and the staff were friendly. They also offer help if you've forgotten any items, which was a nice touch. I had a very enjoyable night here. The room and beds were comfortable, and the whole hotel was immaculate. Dinner was tasty, though the choices were limited to one vegetarian and one meat option, and the puddings were chocolate cakes or carrot cake. There were plenty of gluten-free choices, but breakfast labels could be clearer. The evening meal was labelled well.

We had a cooked breakfast that seemed freshly made and tasted good. The breakfast area was clean, and staff cleared the tables promptly. Our family room was spotless, quiet and well equipped for a one-night stay. Check-in and check-out were simple. I'd happily stay here again if I'm in the area, and would strongly recommend it.

The pub and Morrisons are both within walking distance, and the hotel is ideal for an event at the sports village. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and breakfast was plentiful. Bar prices were a little high, though I suppose that's common at hotels.
