After a day walking the Grand Union canal, this made for a pleasant overnight stop. The rooms were comfortable, well equipped and easily fit three men with an extra bed. There isn't a restaurant or bar, but the owner leaves cereals, break, milk and other essentials in a shared kitchen for guests to help themselves to, with payment by choice in an honesty box. Wine works the same way. We opened a bottle and watched the boats go by in the evening sunshine. Highly recommended.

A lovely, clean place in a beautiful spot, and you have loads of freedom to help yourself to cereal, toast, tea and coffee. There's an honesty box for a bottle of wine too. Ed is a lovely, chilled host. Thoroughly recommended!

We booked the Brownlow for our wedding weekend, and had such a brilliant time in a gorgeous setting. Debby and the team helped make it special. The rooms were lovely and spotless, and you could see how much the staff cared for the B and B. The food was gorgeous and locally sourced. Debby was a great organiser and problem solver, helping with last-minute panics and getting the wedding morning organised perfectly. She and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, and nothing was too much. Everyone was friendly and helpful, kept us supplied with drinks all day, and even brought games for the kids while the bridal party got ready. Thanks again to Debby and her team for everything. Xx

The one positive was that the place was spacious. It was a windy night and, when we arrived around 19.00, we could barely see the car park. There were no signs to help us find the accommodation. Number 3 looked as if it had been robbed, with picture hooks but no pictures, only hand soap, a broken light above the sink, a broken shower-bath mixer and cobwebs. No one was around in the evening or during the day. I booked it for my dad, who was visiting me on the Grand Union Canal in Feb. This really was a case of what you read not being what you get.

The breakfast room was beautiful, and the staff serving it were very polite. I could have as much toast as I wanted, but the English breakfast was tiny. The rooms were clean and very nice, and the location is lovely if, like me, you want to be in the middle of nowhere. The beds were super soft, though, and left me with back pain the next day.
