Aysgarth Falls Hotel

Our room was ready early, which was a lovely relief after travelling all the way from Kent for a Friday night stay. Everyone welcomed us warmly, and the room was spotlessly clean. Dinner was gorgeous, the service was amazing, and the owners were professional and lovely people. We couldn’t fault anything, including the delicious wine. Breakfast was amazing too.

The Sunday dinner was delicious: I had chicken and my mum chose beef, and all the sides were tasty. We also slept really well in a quiet room. After dinner, I enjoyed a cooked breakfast, and I’d recommend the pain au Chocolat. My eggs Benedict was a bit disappointing, though. The muffin wasn’t toasted or buttered and felt stodgy, and there was a tiny bit of raw egg white that I took off. We had a couple of room hiccups, but the friendly staff sorted them without making a fuss. Our first room wasn’t set up as a twin as requested for my mother-daughter trip, so we were moved to an attic room. It was smaller but nice, though cold, and we couldn’t get the heating to work. When we mentioned it before dinner, they moved us back to the original, much bigger room and split the beds while we ate. It was warmer, with a huge bathroom and a bath. The hotel’s in a lovely spot in the Dales, and our stay was really good. I’d happily return.

We had two outstanding meals here while staying nearby, and the team made us feel very welcome. It was a special birthday, and the hotel gave us a really kind gesture that made the occasion feel extra lovely. The service was exceptional. We’d certainly come back and recommend it.

The Dales burger with blue cheese was one of the best gourmet burgers I’ve had. The ales were kept well too. It’s a lovely hotel, restaurant and bar, with excellent food and friendly, attentive staff.
