The village is tiny and peaceful, with a lovely stream running through it. We stayed for the last weekend in September, and the B&B turned out to be one of our favourites. Our room stretched across the full width of the building, with the bedroom, bathroom and a sitting room all in one private space. It was spacious, with a dresser and a huge armoire for our clothes and luggage. The queen-sized bed sat a little low, but it was manageable. Wi-Fi worked well, and the room had a hair dryer. The walk-in shower had plenty of hot water, and there were lots of towels, including a washcloth, the only one we saw during our two-week holiday. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were provided. My husband was delighted to fish in the stream beside the house and even caught one. Breakfast was served downstairs in a separate room, where each guest had their own table. We loved the creamy yogurt with fresh fruit and homemade toasty granola. You could also choose a hot dish. I had scrambled eggs and sausage both mornings because the first breakfast was cooked perfectly. Toast, coffee or tea, and juice were available too. Parking right outside made getting in easy.

We felt welcome from the start thanks to Neil and Jane, who were warm, friendly and very helpful. The beautifully renovated mill is full of character, and our tastefully furnished room was comfortable. Hearing the river just outside was a calming bonus. Breakfast was excellent, and there are great walking routes starting right from the door. A special place to stay. We’d definitely recommend it and hope to return.

This is a quirky, beautifully restored water mill in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, with just three guest rooms. Each room is individual and well equipped, and the breakfasts are great. There are some good pubs and restaurants within a 15 minute drive. Bainbridge is a quiet village, though its pub isn’t appealing. The location is ideal, without being overrun with tourists.

The village is absolutely beautiful and picturesque, and we loved the brownie on arrival and the communal area, where we spent a relaxing evening reading. The host and accommodation both deserve 5*. We only took off a star because of our personal preference for the location. We usually walk from Reeth, and with our littler dogs we found fewer short walks directly from here for a short stay.

Neil and Jane bring old Yourshire Dale's history together with first world service in this intriguing guest house, a converted old corn mill beside the river. The three en-suite rooms are delightful, spacious and clean, and breakfast was lovely. A great choice for a relaxing weekend in the Yorkshire Dale's, highly recommended.
