Lyndsey gave me a lovely welcome, and the fish I had for dinner was delicious. My room was peaceful and so comfortable that I slept like a log. There's a good choice at breakfast too. A cosy Inn with a comfortable room, just right for stopping on the way to Scotland. I'll definitely return.

The Sunday roast was a winner, we had lamb and it was delicious, with a generous portion. It's a cosy little place right by the A66, serving great home-cooked food. The suit of armour by the door is a fun touch, and the staff were really friendly. The toilets were very clean too. I'd happily call in again.

The beer from Clarckson's Farm was a surprise. We also had delicious sandwiches with tuna, bacon and lettuce, plus soup and fish and chips.

We found this place by chance and really liked its quaint, homely feel. The people working there were lovely. My husband had roast beef and I had roast turkey, and it was soooo good. Highly recommend!
