This was my third visit to Long Ashes, but my first at The Gamekeepers Inn. The spacious, very clean room had a separate sitting area and a sofa bed for families, plus a coffee machine, kettle, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits. We had a good menu at the Inn without prices being too high. We chose seabass and fish pie, followed by sticky toffee pudding and sherry triffle. For my daughter's birthday, the staff gave her a couple of lovely surprises. We joined the quiz in the bar and even won the raffle! Breakfast had cereals, porridge, muesli and cooked options, and we had the full Yorkshire breakfast before leaving. The pool, sauna and steam room were very nice and not too busy. The staff were lovely and friendly. Another thoroughly enjoyable stay, helped along by lovely sunshine. I’ve not been disappointed yet and would definitely recommend a visit.

The food at The Gamekeepers inn was amazing, and my son loved playing in the park and making friends there. We had a lovely couple of nights at Long Ashes this week. The receptionist gave us a warm welcome and even remembered my name, “Sam”, the next day! We explored the area and used the onsite swimming pool. The camping fields were spacious and not busy during our stay. My only small uncertainty was a shower around 9:30-10pm, when I think the hot water may have run out. I’m not sure if it’s on a timer. No other complaints, and I can’t wait to come back.

The setting is beautiful, and everyone we met was lovely and happy to help. I had a very relaxing massage, and the facilities and food were fab. A fantastic experience all round at the woodland cafe and spa.

The celebration put on by Long Ashes and its hard-working, friendly staff was beautifully presented. It was my partner's daughter's wedding vows renewal, and we had a fantastic time over the 10-hour event, with Mystic mind reading, live entertainment, a photo booth, Prosecco and sparkler parades, and even cask beer. The buildings and grounds still have the same feel as when I sang there with my sister when we were younger. In the early morning, you can see rabbits, peacocks and deer among the trees and fields. The chalets and caravans blend nicely into the setting, and the place still has a peaceful, calm atmosphere. We stayed overnight, with breakfast and use of the gym and swimming pool included. The pool area is a big improvement on what I remember from the 1979's and 80's, though that was good in its day. I also had the pleasure of DJing on opening night. Even after a long day and night celebrating, we felt comfortable and rested. I want to live there, but a short stay is probably the next step first!

Dan the manager went above and beyond to make our weekend more enjoyable. The rooms were very comfortable, the food was great, and we got a warm welcome when we arrived. Nothing seemed too much trouble. A lovely place for a weekend away.
