We’re staying in the village and popped in for lunch today. Our small dog was welcome too. The staff gave us a warm, friendly welcome, and we both enjoyed the mixed meat Sunday lunch and dessert. The food was very good, portions generous, and prices reasonable. The prawn fiesta was easily the best prawn cocktail I’ve ever had. The steak, mushroom and ale pie with veg was really good too. Marcia and the team made us feel very welcome. We’ll definitely be back.

A friend first brought us here, and she and her family come regularly. I’ve been several times now. The owner and staff are so friendly, the food and bar are excellent, and it’s a lovely area. Can’t wait to go again.

Marcia served 17 of us today, and everyone was more than happy with their different dishes. The food was delicious, piping hot, and arrived quickly. Sunday roast comes in small, medium, or large portions, which works well for different appetites. We’ll certainly visit again. Well done!

We love this proper little Cornish pub. Service is quick and friendly, the food is good, portions are large, and it’s well cooked. There are some pretty good vegan and vegetarian options too, and plenty of outdoor seating. It’s perfectly placed among the interesting spots on Bodmin moor. Go for a good hike, then finish off at the cheesewring for a great day out.
