Badgers Sett

I spent a week at Badgers Sett on a late vacation in 2012, and I mean to return to this haven. The owners, A+P, were kind, helpful, and clearly proud of what they offer, with every reason to be. The cottages are spotless and practical, and the garden plots make a tranquil retreat in good weather, complementing the lovely buildings. The location is excellent for exploring both the north and south coasts, as well as great NT houses. Thanks, A+P, great job.

The gardens are gorgeous, with an outdoor sitting area for each cottage, and it’s a blissfully quiet rural retreat whatever the weather. We stayed for a week in July 2014 with my parents. The cottage was very well equipped, and we really appreciated the cream tea on arrival. Lots of attractions are within an hour, and the owners were helpful and courteous. Don’t be put off by the narrow approach lane, it’s worth it!

It took a bit of effort to get there along those narrow lanes, but that’s Cornwall. The place is beautifully done and so peaceful. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

Each cottage has a lovely little outdoor spot for a quiet drink after a day out, weather permitting. Badgers Sett is a good choice if you want a clean, quiet, well-appointed cottage in the countryside, with easy access to lots of Cornwall’s attractions. The drive in is “interesting,” as it is in many parts of Cornwall. If single track roads with passing places aren’t for you, Cornwall may not be either.
