We only tried breakfast, which was freshly made and generous, though the evening food at the bar looked tempting enough to try next time. The rooms behind the pub were nicely appointed and had superb views. It’s a traditional country pub with a good choice of real ales and friendly locals. We’d definitely stop here again when we’re in the area.

The staff were great and the food was wonderful, but I wish we’d been given one of the fabulous rooms other reviewers mentioned. Ours was clean, though very small and dated, and in my opinion only big enough for a single bed. The bed was the most uncomfortable we’ve ever had on our travels, and the TV was small. The bathroom was across the hall, which was the main issue.

We were made very welcome for our one-night stay. Our room was the cheapest option and quite small, with a separate bathroom, as we knew when booking. The railway line seemed close, but we didn’t hear anything. Dinner was good quality and reasonably priced. It’s a fine country pub with an interesting history, five or six real ales, good food and quality accommodation. Well worth a visit.

The manager noticed I was on crutches and arranged a downstairs room for us, which was so kind. The staff were lovely and helpful throughout our stay at this B&B. Breakfast was delicious, with everything we could want before heading home. We’d love to return and will definitely recommend Willoughby arms to friends and family.

If you’re exploring Stamford or the Rutland area, this is a lovely place to stay. The hosts make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive, and it’s clear they care about making your stay enjoyable. The rooms are immaculate and each has its own theme. We only had breakfast at the hotel, but the quality looked excellent and there was a great choice. The Willoughby Arms has everything you’d hope for in a country inn and B&B.
