I went for the steak, blue cheese and caramelised red onion pie, while my wife chose the Littondale lamb and said it was stunning. Both were fresh and packed with high-quality ingredients. You can choose mash, chips, veg, or mushy peas, and my chips and mushy peas were made to a really high standard too. The pub is in a stunning location and, with pies this good, I can see why they’re famous. If you want proper pub grub cooked to a very high standard, you must come here. Incredible!

The beer was wonderful, and it’s been a while since we had pub food this good. We loved our recent visits. Everyone made us feel welcome, and the atmosphere was wonderful, the kind of thing that’s missing from so many pubs. Thank you!

Mum’s birthday felt special and memorable thanks to this meal. My family’s dishes were just as scrumptious as mine. I had the Sunday lunch, with a generous portion of perfectly cooked beef and delicious vegetables, then a superb homemade sticky toffee pudding. I couldn’t fault any of it.

The roaring log fire made for a warm welcome when we came for a group meal at the Queens Arms. This place specialises in pies, and they were so good with the triple-cooked chips and micro-brewed beer. Utter heaven!

We’ve not stopped thinking about the food since we left. The flavours were top tier and the portions were good. My rather large family came for Sunday lunch, and the choice, service, and understanding from the staff were second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. They handled our chaos better than we could have asked for and made everyone feel welcome. We’ll be back and telling everyone we know.
