The rooms were spotless, warm and comfortable, and it's a great location with a lovely pint of Guinness in the pub downstairs. I'm Irish and live in Australia, and I brought my elderly father over to see a game as a Christmas present. When the Liverpool match we had booked accommodation for, on 30 December, moved to 1 January, the owner refunded us in full and let us change the date. They didn't have to do that. They also let us check in about four hours early for free, which we really appreciated. This trip confirmed what I already knew: Scousers are sound people. Thanks again!

The Flat Iron worked perfectly for our two-night visit to Anfield, less than a 10-minute walk from the stadium. The rooms suited us well, and the staff were helpful with every question. I'd recommend it to anyone.

It's a good local pub, usually a nice place to drop into. Expect it to be extremely busy on match days; during the week it's much quieter and mostly locals.

I'd never seen my beloved Liverpool play at Anfield before, and had come all the way from India for the match. We had a great time at this pub beforehand!
