My experience with Liverpool Stays Kempston court was quite different, and very bad. After I'd paid online through Booking.com for the room, they asked me to provide my bank details twice. They gave the cynical and primitive explanation that they needed a deposit, though that wasn't mentioned when I chose from the listings Booking.com showed me. If I had known, I would never have chosen them. What annoyed me most was that this happened after I'd sent my British passport and they realised I was a pensioner. I say to other pensioners, beware of rogue hotels like this. It also convinced me that online booking sites play dirty tricks on customers, especially pensioners like me.

I wasn’t allowed to stay, and they didn’t give me my money back. The service was no good. Don’t stay here.
