Printworks Hotel

The rooms were tidy and clean, and the price was excellent. Everyone on the staff was friendly and helpful. It's well placed for getting into the city. I'd definitely recommend it and book again.

I travelled from Central Ireland to my hotel in Central Liverpool in under four hours, and the trip was simple and hassle free. Liverpool's centre is now largely pedestrianised, which made walking to local attractions easier than taking a taxi or public transport. Everything of interest was within about half an hour on foot, and the hotel was perfectly central.

For £46 on a Friday night, this was a bargain. My room was below ground, windowless and compact, but it had what I needed for one night in Liverpool. The bed was comfortable enough, though the pillows felt thin and cheap, and I couldn't get settled. I'm fussy about pillows, to be fair. The TV had Netflix, which was a nice extra. The room was very dark and quiet, so sleep came easily, perhaps too easily. Without daylight through the curtains, you could sleep past checkout, so set an alarm, lol. I was told reception wanted £160 for the next night, 20th dec. I wouldn't be sure about paying that for this particular room when other Liverpool hotels have bigger rooms for less. Still, I was happy with the deal I got that Friday night.

I couldn't stay and had to cancel and leave. The staff were unprofessional, and Booking hadn't told me about the hidden policies when I booked. The location was terrible, and the old furniture smelled. There was no fridge in the room, not enough soap or toilet paper, and no tissues. The stair carpet was dirty and smelled too. I won't go back.
