There was no reception staff, and I initially struggled to get inside. The instructions said to call one of the numbers on the door, but it's on a busy road and I could barely hear what the woman on the phone was saying. I booked through Booking.com for just over £90 because six or seven other places were already full the night I was going to a gig. I was desperate for a room. The direct price of £130 is an insult, and even £50 a night wouldn't have tempted me otherwise. Unless you're stuck like I was, don't stay at Renshaw Guest.House.

There was no TV, and I couldn't get in or out properly. The place smelled as soon as I walked through the door, looked plain and drab, and there was no one at reception to contact.
