The Star Inn

The mountain scenery is the one thing that might top the stay itself. We were on a multi-day bike ride, and the host was friendly, engaging, and happy to help with washing and drying our bikes and clothes. The rooms were ideal, and even the toiletries were good quality. Food and beer options suited us perfectly, and the barman was just as friendly. Can't recommend it enough.

Thanks so much to Richard and the team. They welcomed us warmly, helped us in, and found a table that worked for our wheelchair and large dog. Richard checked we were all right, and the service was excellent. We enjoyed fish and chips and scampi and chips. It's a very handy stop after a walk at Hefren Forest, and we'll definitely come back.

We dropped in twice at lunchtime, once for a meal and once just for a drink. The owners were warm, welcoming, chatty, and interesting, and the service was really friendly. It's a cosy place with an ancient feel, in a fab location, with a good range of drinks and excellent food at fair prices. Great spot!

We spent a night here during a hiking holiday, using both the hotel and pub. The room was standardly furnished, but freshly renovated and very clean and well cared for. The owner was extremely friendly and helpful, even trying to anticipate what we might need. Since getting a pub licence in August 2025, the owner has also begun serving evening meals. There is a varied menu, including vegetarian and vegan dishes, which I hadn't expected at the end of the world. An ideal place to rest and stay overnight. Thank you.
