After 20 years of golf trips to Llandudno, this is the best accommodation we’ve had there. The clean, comfortable rooms, great location and two nice lounges made a lovely two-night stay at the Seaclyffe. Sandy and her daughter Nadine welcomed us warmly, and breakfast in the airy dining room was great. We’ve already booked again for 2025.

Sandy was so welcoming when I arrived on Friday evening, and even insisted on carrying my heavy case upstairs. I’d booked two nights to visit a good friend in Llandudno. Although I’d paid for a single, I got a lovely double room with its own bathroom and a bath, which I was delighted to find. I do like to wallow, and so many hotels don’t have baths anymore. Everything was spotlessly clean. When I explained that my friend was bringing fish and chips and asked if we could eat in my room, Sandy suggested we use the pretty conservatory instead and brought us cutlery. Later, she happily brought tea and biscuits for us. She did the same the next evening when we came back with my friend’s son. The building is beautiful, and the reception rooms are decorated in a way that suits its era. We were the only ones using them, I think the other guests had gone out, and it was lovely. I gave the room four stars only because the bathroom wasn’t the usual white suite you see these days. The basin and toilet were white, but the bath was pale pink, as was popular some time ago. It didn’t bother me one bit. Parking is on the surrounding streets, but I was lucky and found a spot very close by. My car stayed there the whole time, since you can get around Llandudno on foot. Breakfast was included and perfectly acceptable. I don’t usually go for a cooked breakfast, but I could see there was a good one available. The staff serving it were very friendly and helpful. Thanks so much to Sandy and everyone. I really hope we get to see you again!

Shabby, but not chic, sums up this B&B. It’s definitely not a hotel. The outside looks smart, with plants and modern garden furniture, but indoors it’s house-clearance furniture and 1980s carpet and decor. Our tiny room was clean, as was the quite large bathroom. It had a white basin and toilet, and a pink bath with shower above. Two rows of tiles around the bath were pink too, and many were broken. The light above the sink, which had an electric point, didn’t work. The shelf under the mirror was loose, so things fell off. Once the bathroom door was shut, it was very hard to open again. The window frames were rotten, and the windows were difficult to close. This place isn’t suitable for people with mobility problems. There are lots of steep stairs, including an extremely steep staircase with badly worn carpet to reach the breakfast room. The Seaclyffe advertises a bar and entertainment, but no one told us when we booked or checked in that the bar was currently closed and the entertainment suspended. We also never got a house information sheet with breakfast times, fire procedures or checkout times. We’d only booked three nights to see our son who lives nearby, so we just used the place to sleep and bathe. Next time we’ll find somewhere else.

The service was friendly and efficient, and breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Room 27 was basic, but clean and comfortable, and quiet at night. The beds were comfortable too. The bathroom looked straight out of the 80s, and it’s not every day you shower next to woodchip wallpaper. There’s no hotel parking, so you have to find a space nearby, though you should 🤞. It also isn’t suitable if you have mobility issues, with stairs to both the rooms and dining room. Some of the reviews here are very destructive. Having stayed there, I understand some of the criticism, but not all of it. This kind of place keeps a proud working class heritage going, and with the Tories out to destroy us, we should stick together.
