Travelodge Llandudno

I’ve stayed at a couple of other Travelodge's and really disliked this one. My room felt old, tired, cold, and not very clean. There’s no breakfast, restaurant, or option to get a drink or coffee. I only saw a staff member at check-in, then no one again. I didn’t see any cleaners, and reception wasn’t manned, so I couldn’t ask for extra towels or toilet rolls. Parking was a nightmare too. The only spaces are in the central reservation outside, and availability is limited, so you may have to leave the car on a side street a mile up the road. I was meant to stay the whole weekend, but it was so dire that I left a night early.

The reception staff were lovely, friendly, and always ready to help when we needed something. Our family room was spacious, with comfortable beds, brilliant pull-out beds for the kids, and blackout curtains. There was a stain at the bottom of the bed, though it didn’t affect our stay. We did have to renew our key cards every time we went out. When our family of four needed more towels, the cleaner came in and just threw two on the bed, perhaps they were tired. The one thing I’d change is the WiFi. You only get 30 minutes free, and because we had no signal, it was frustrating when we needed to contact family. The free half hour was only available at the same time each day. For what we paid for three nights, a bit more WiFi would have been great ❤️

The location was good, the rooms decent, and the staff friendly. The only problem was the key cards: twice a day they deactivated and had to be reset at reception, which was sometimes unmanned. I felt bad for the staff having to deal with complaints about it all the time. That was the only negative part of the stay 👍🏻

Check-in and reception were closed until 3pm, so a queue formed out the door and down the road, with everyone arriving at once. We didn’t get into the room until 3:30pm. A 90-year-old had to stand for 30 minutes, as the one small seat in reception was already taken by another older person. At 1am, the emergency cord was pulled after that person had fallen in the room, but nobody showed up at all.
