MBH3 Lodges at Pantglas Hall

There’s plenty of green space for kids, and the pool and sauna kept us entertained, though the place has a bit of a municipal feel. It’s a handy base for mountain biking: Brechfa and Gorlech trails are 20 mins away, Hafod trails are 30 mins away, and Afan is an hour away. Dinefwr castle is close, too, as is the recently opened cycle path at Tywi Vallley. The cafe, restaurant and games room with table tennis have that same slightly municipal, youth-hostel vibe. The cabin was quiet, in good condition and well equipped, with an induction hob, good pans, a hairdryer and a cafetière. The bedding was lovely and soft, and there was plenty of hot water.

We loved how serene and quiet the resort was, and the pool was great, with a relaxing jacuzzi. It’s also lovely for morning walks. We stayed over Halloween, and it was well worth coming with the kids then, as they ran activities every day during the festive period to keep them occupied. Make sure you bring a car and plan your grocery shopping ahead. There’s no nearby grocery store.

The hot tub was ready to use, the double bed was comfortable, and there are TVs in every room. I also had one of the best bubble baths, with the lights off and soft music on. The WiFi was spot on, no dropping out. I arrived very late on Thursday evening to warm lighting and a made-up bed. The lodge, number 11, looked brand new and was so clean I could’ve been the first guest. I had a slight issue with the hot water temperature and pressure, but it was fixed within minutes of asking. I came for a long weekend away from reality and ended up with a weight lifted off my shoulders. I’m on day 2 of 4, and I’d definitely recommend Pantglas and come back.

The food was outstanding, and every staff member I met was friendly, helpful and keen to make things lovely for my daughter and son-in-law. Jen, the wedding planner, was amazing. She helped my daughter make her dream day happen, and was always nearby without hovering. She and the other staff knew when to stay in the background and give us space. We held my daughter's wedding reception here, and the couple stayed in the lodges for 2 nights. Both the venue and the lodges are beautiful. The hall was perfect for a small, intimate meal, with wooden beams and a log fire, and there was plenty of room for more guests later. It would work just as well for a much larger wedding. I’d recommend Pantglas Hall to everyone.
