I fell in love with the river side room, especially the big bath overlooking the canal. The host was lovely and gave us our space, with her number handy in case we needed anything. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable in this cosy, welcoming B&B. Everything was very clean and up to a high standard, with hairdryers, straighteners, bathrobes and slippers provided. We’ll certainly be back.

The house is huge inside and backs onto the river Dee, though it looks rather plain from outside. It’s on a narrow street with no parking right outside. You can stop briefly to unload, then park at the term parking area, just a two-minute walk away. Watch your head on the low beams above the doors and on the stairs. One caught me 😵 The kitchen is downstairs, fully equipped, and opens onto the garden. There are two good-sized bedrooms, one with direct access to the large bathroom and its freestanding roll-top bath. Upstairs, there’s an impressive bedroom with a double shower and Jacuzzi bath. The house is very well insulated, has good central heating, and two log fires in the front room and dining room. Everyone was impressed, and we had a nice stay. I was charged twice for our stay, though I only noticed the next day. I chased it up and was reimbursed a day later. It’s quite an expensive stay, with check-in only after three PM and checkout at ten AM. Would I do it again 🤔

Our kids gave us this stay for my husband's 65th Birthday, and the whole experience was absolutely fabulous. The owner was welcoming, the breakfast was truly unbelievable, and the hotel and location were both outstanding. We stayed in the Castle/River room, which was magnificent. Easily the best hotel by far. We’ll definitely be going back.

We spent two lovely nights in the River room at Cornerstone. You walk through a cosy entrance and breakfast lounge to reach the room, and the interiors were exceptional throughout. It came with coffee, tea, hot chocolate and biscuits, plus a great selection of DVDs. The bathroom was magnificent, and having a bath there really made you feel like royalty. Breakfast was exceptional too, and you could ring ahead to have it freshly made to order. We really appreciated that the hosts gave us space, including with self-check-in. A one-of-a-kind place to stay in Llangolen, highly recommended!
