We had a wonderful two-night stay at this hidden gem. Our double room was nicely decorated and had everything we needed, including complimentary bottled local water. We didn’t bring our dog, but room 12 would have suited one well thanks to its own outside entrance. The staff, especially the manager, were friendly and funny, and couldn’t do enough for us. The restaurant was closed to the public on Monday, but even though we were the only guests eating that night, the manager opened the kitchen for us. The food was superb, fresh and tasty. Older reviews mention food issues, but it’s clear the chef has changed, so don’t let those put you off. We took the local bus into Llangollen for an enjoyable, stress-free day out and would love to come back. The village is beautiful, with a local spar shop next door, a new small community cafe and wonderful views in the stunning Ceiriog valley. Thanks to the team for a great stay.

We got a good price for this lovely little gem. The room was clean and had facilities for making a brew, and all the staff were lovely. Dinner and breakfast were nice too, and our dog was made very welcome. 🙂

The food was straightforward pub fare, cooked well and at a great price. There was a midweek offer where kids ate for £1. On both nights we stayed, we paid around £50 for two adult meals, two children’s meals, two children’s ice creams, two pints of lager and three J20s. That’s good value by anyone’s standards these days. The staff were friendly and great with the kids, and the atmosphere was lovely. Breakfast was a simple buffet with everything you needed to start the day, plus great coffee. There’s a playground across the road, which was a bonus for the children. The place is a bit out of the way, but it was very quiet. It’s a nice, unassuming little place with plenty to like, and a decent place to stay at a brilliant price.

The team really made our special one-night stay at glyn valley. They were so friendly and chatty, and nothing was too much trouble. We’d be very happy to visit again. Our journey was difficult. If your satnav sends you up the hills to the village, don’t follow it, as the place is easily reached via chirk. Once we arrived and checked in, we liked the quiet Welsh country pub feel. Our clean, modern top-floor room had everything we needed. Dinner at the pub was amazing, top notch and well presented. It wasn’t busy, so we enjoyed a few pints and a chat with other couples staying there. Breakfast was continental and nice. If I could suggest an improvement, it would be a bit more choice, perhaps with more Welsh products. This place is a rare hidden gem. Thanks so much for having us.

We stopped by for a meal and really enjoyed it. My partner had the beef pie, while I had the beef burger with onion rings on the side, and both were spot on. The staff were friendly and relaxed, and we’d definitely recommend the food. We didn’t stay in the rooms, so can’t comment on them. 👌
