Greenbank Lodge Llangollen

The room was clean and adequate, and the check-in and check-out instructions were clear. The central location is handy, and the free parking permit was a nice touch given how busy Llangollen can get. Nothing to grumble about.

We visited as a group in good weather and could sit together on the patio at the front. The communal room was being refurbished, and the parking pass was a bonus. I’d rate the service higher if someone had been present at the hotel, since all contact with management was remote. They were professional, accommodating and friendly. We stayed in late June 2023.

The cottage is small but just right for us and our little dog, and it’s perfectly placed near the top of the main high street. We’re coming back next week. It had everything we needed for a self-catering stay except a tea towel for washing up, so we brought our own. There were dog bowls, a bed and a cover, plus a lovely spacious bedroom and an amazing shower. The new boiler had a low-pressure issue and needed filling, but it was easy to do and they’re getting it fixed. It didn’t affect our stay. The heating ran on a timer, though you could adjust the radiators yourself if it got too warm.

The room was nice and clean, and I’d stay again, though there’s room for improvement. After every shower the bathroom floor flooded, the extractor fan was louder than a plane starting, and the water wasn’t hot enough when I showered around 10pm.
