Si & Sam provided a wonderful spot and gave us a warm welcome. The yurt was nicely decorated, with a big bed, log burner, plenty of blankets and hot water bottles. It gets very cold at night. You can hear owls hooting and other sounds, which is nice, though it is noisy. Mornings are very bright too, so I’d suggest ear plugs and a night mask if you’re a light sleeper. The outdoor kitchen is right next door and has all you need: kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has a chemical toilet that takes a bit of getting used to, and the electric shower tends to wet the floor because of the shallow tray and shower curtain. My only small issue was getting in and driving up. The approach and driveway are steep, rough and rutted, so they need careful handling. If you have a low car, you’ll struggle. The location is perfect, with the canal path just across the road from the entrance. It’s a 10-minute walk to a pub, then about an hour’s gentle walk into Llangollen. Loved it!

Sam and her family are extremely kind and friendly. We stayed in the Cowshed, where the bed was really comfortable, the bathroom felt luxurious, and breakfast was delicious. Everything was just perfect. We’d definitely recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

We stayed in the yurt at the beginning of November. Even though it was cold, the stove and heated blanket kept it really comfortable. It’s nicely furnished and has a lovely view, a little kitchen, and a toilet with a shower in the unit next door, which had a heater. Great for a bit of luxury camping.

The room was very clean, the bathroom smart, and the view from the bath was stunning. The bed was really comfortable and I slept well. But using the kettle was awkward and a bit dangerous: there was no plug near the hospitality table, so I had to balance it on the edge of the bedside table. It wasn’t cordless and the lead was only about a foot long. The TV remote kept falling apart too. The bath shower attachment leaked all over the floor when I ran a bath. The website advertised a fridge, but it was actually in a shed across the yard. That might sound minor, but trekking across the yard in pyjamas at 7am in pouring rain for milk for tea and cereal wasn’t good. There were also a couple of rugs on the polished floor that felt like an accident waiting to happen. Such a shame that so many little things let down a beautiful place.

The room was lovely and cosy, and the bathroom was even better, easily 5 stars plus. The hosts were happy to help with anything. A perfect little getaway.
