Glan Y Gro Lakeside Suites

We had everything we needed in the apartment, and it’s a great place to stay. The weather was the one thing missing during our visit, but that’s out of anyone’s hands. We also enjoyed seeing the low-flying aircraft over the lake. I couldn’t manage to catch them on video. I wondered if Lake Bala is a waypoint from the training site at Anglesey, but either way, they were great to watch.

There are lovely places in the grounds to picnic beside lake bala or watch the small steam train pass. Beatrice and her husband keep these beautiful apartments well maintained, and the surrounding scenery is breathtaking. Inside, the beds are large and comfortable, the showers are powerful, and the kitchen is fully equipped. Everything you need for a relaxing holiday is here. A real hidden gem.

Beatrice gave us a warm welcome and goodbye, and the apartment overlooking the lake has great facilities. The setting is absolutely stunning and the location is fantastic. Highly recommended.

The lake changes through the day: in the morning it can be so still it looks like a mirror, while later there may be sailboats and planes overhead. You can hear the steam train, and on a clear night the stars are great to see. I’ve stayed here a couple of times and would happily book again. The hosts are welcoming and glad to share local information. It’s peaceful by the lake, with town close enough to walk to, and parking is easy. There’s plenty of room inside and everything needed for a short stay, including a coffee pod machine. Being able to watch Netflix on the smart TVs is a nice touch.
