The breakfast was a real highlight, loads to choose from and everything cooked beautifully. We’d stayed on the campsite last summer and have just come back for the B&B. The rooms are lovely, clean, and have modern en-suites. I’d recommend it to anyone, and we’ll definitely return with our van in the spring. Thanks, Gareth & Bethan.

We’d use this site again. It’s an easy bike ride into Bala, and the train station is just a two-minute walk away. The nearest bus stop is five minutes on foot and has a good, regular service. Nice site with great views, though Storm Amy blocked ours! The toilet block was good too.

The kids were happy riding their bikes around the site, splashing in the river, and playing in the play area. It’s a tidy, safe place with helpful, friendly hosts, and the facilities are cleaned often. There’s a little shop in reception and the Steam Train station is next door. The views are picturesque, and with no light pollution the stars at night are amazing. We’ve just been for our third visit and already can’t wait to come back next summer. It’s our favourite campsite, we just wish we could’ve stayed longer.

The only thing that took away from the peace was a group of motorbike enthusiasts revving their bikes and showing off to each other. Apart from that, this is a welcoming, comfortable place to stay, with spacious pitches, spotless grounds, and excellent facilities. Everything feels well cared for.

The Eagle, run by the local community, is just a short walk into the village and serves great food and drinks. The site itself is lovely, surrounded by fields, hills, and mountains. There are 10 pitches, mostly on gravel hardstandings, plus several lower areas used for tents. The toilets and showers were clean and efficient, and there’s also a washing-up area and laundry. Especially good for train enthusiasts, with the Bala Lake light railway station right next door. The trips to Bala town and back are well worth a go.
